Betty the Learned Elephant salutes the 2005 GLL players! Teams gather around Acotes Field for the Opening Ceremonies. GLL President Eric James welcomes everyone to the field. Citations are presented to the league's longest serving coaches. "Volunteer of the Year" awards are presented to Sue Harris & John Whetstone. Retiring Glocester Recreation Director Dave Chace throws out the ceremonial 1st pitch. Mr. Chace thanks catcher Dave Santos on a job well done. PLAY BALL!! The Purple Cat takes on the Glocester Lions in the season's first game. A Josef Creations player waits for the pitch vs. Chester's in Opening Day AAA action. Long Realty battles Dunkin Donuts in the first AA game of the season.
